Resin bound stone is a permeable surface that allows rainwater to filter through, meeting SUDS regulations to reduce flood risk. Ideal bases include permeable tarmac or reinforced plastic grid systems filled with permeable stone.
An overlay system can be applied to existing tarmac, concrete, or slabbed surfaces when the base is stable. It's a cost effective way to transform tired or uneven driveways. While we can reinforce cracks, base movement can still cause reflective cracks, so in unstable cases, we recommend a complete base replacement.
In the past, non-UV resin was common, but UV-stable options now offer superior colour retention and weather resistance. Non-UV variants are still available for certain darker finishes where budget is a factor.
